(112) Hours/Month of Conversational English

CVIC English as a Second Language (ESL) is designed to quickly get you started toward attaining your ESL goals.

At (28) hours per week these English Language Programs are most often called "Super Intensive". We have a time-proven methodology for teaching you Conversational English.

If you want to learn the most English in the time you have available then this is the course in which you should enrol.

Some Details About Your English as a Second Language(ESL) Program

  • Community Volunteering
    • is not mandatory.
    • is at no extra charge to students.
    • is available to students registered for three months or more. (CVIC will try to accommodate students registered for shorter time periods. However, please recognize short term positions are limited)
    • is full of unique opportunities to suit your objectiv
  • You may start your English as a Second Language course on the first school term day of any month (please see schedule of course dates below).
  • You may apply to attend for any number of terms (weeks/months) that you wish.
  • ESL core components include Intensive ESL, Pronunciation, Conversation, Idioms, Vocabulary, Reading, Writing, Listening, Grammar.
  • Afternoon expansion classes are chosen by the students from a list of over (26) subjects.
  • If there is a possibility you will extend your school studies in Canada we strongly recommend that you apply for a "Study Permit".
  • If you cannot start your ESL course on the first term day of the month please advise us and we will try to accommodate your needs.

Free Services Included in Tuition

  • Arrival and departure assistance.
  • Introductions, by CVIC staff, to your Host Family.
  • Information package presented on arrival.
  • Laminated photo identification card.
  • Downtown orientation tour led by CVIC staff.
  • CVIC language testing service.
  • Provincial medical plan registration (when needed).
  • Instruction in how to establish and use a Bank Account.
  • Public Library card with free internet and email access.

PART-TIME CONVERSATIONAL PROGRAM

This program allows you to study in the mornings from 9:00AM to 12:00PM leaving your afternoons free to do as you please.

If you want to learn the most language possible but leave the afternoons open for personal pursuits then this is the program for you.

  • 15 hours of instruction per week (approximately 20 lessons)
  • The activity program is not an option with the part-time program.
  • You may start your course on the first term day of any month (please follow the link below to the schedule of course start dates). If you are registering for less than a month you may start on any Monday.
  • You may register for any number of terms (weeks/months) that you wish.
  • You may extend your registration term. (If there is a possibility you will extend your studies in Canada we strongly recommend that you apply for a "Study Permit". It is possible to change conditions of a Study Permit from within Canada)
    • Free Services Included With Your Tuition;
      • Arrival introductions by CVIC staff to Host Family.
      • Arrival and/or Departure assistance.
      • Information package.
      • Student photo identification card.
      • Downtown orientation tour.
      • CVIC language proficiency testing services.
      • Provincial medical plan registration.
      • Instruction using and assistance to establish a Bank Account.
      • Public library card application assistance with free internet.
      • Note: Supplies fee is included in tuition fee.
