Comox Valley International College has created this statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for all personal information.
The comment form on our site asks users to give us their name and email address. These two pieces of information are not mandatory and the form can be sent without them. We use this information only to reply to the user if asked to do so. This information is not shared, given, or sold to any other organization or individual.
We use registration forms for students/clients to register for courses. All information from the forms is transmitted using the "Secure Socket Layer" and, upon receipt by CVIC, is treated as strictly confidential. Registration form information is never shared with any person outside of CVIC, except the submitter of the form or their designated representative. Also, registration information is not shared, given, or sold to any other organization or individual. Such information is shared with CVIC personnel only on a "need to know basis".
Information Removal
CVIC gives users the following options for removing their information from our website, database, records and/or to not receive future communications from CVIC. (Note that various provincial and federal government regulations requie that certain information be retained by CVIC for their reference and cannot, therefore, be removed or destroyed)
